"Watercolors" was released in the summer of 2011, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Broken Glow. With Garrett taking over lead vocals and Andrew joining on bass, the band continues to display the firepower leads of Brenner and the primal thumps of Paul on drums.

The first studio release from the group presents five distinctive tracks, beginning with the thundering ballad "Month Of May," where interlacing guitar arpeggios coalesce at the climax into sludgy riffs. The phrygian scales of "The Great War" capture a hopelessness which echos in the text. This story of disillusionment is greatly inspired by Arthur Miller's classic "Death Of A Salesman." Next comes perhaps the most delicate selection on the album, "Sabrina." With oscillating dynamics, honky tonk shuffle and half-time stomps, the lyrics portray a pair of lost souls seeking guidance in their turbulent world. "It's Not Alright" swings in next, a direct homage to Bob Dylan and a romping anthem with blues attitude. Finally "Dogs & Demons" caps the album, a thundering send-up to the greatness of heavy rock. Chugging rhythms paint a rocky landscape over which the struggle of man against himself looms large. A fitting end to this truncated epic of an album. ... more

Month of May 03:34
I emerge, from the pain, led by a gentle, guiding, light Standing on, the water edge, I'm soaked and haunted by the night I was young, but lost it all, here in the night Spring has come, I've left the cold, so far behind I can feel, the Month of May, here in the light morning comes, i am reborn I am clean, tearing out, I leave your memory behind In the sun, i feel the warmth, and it could bring me back to life I was young, but lost it all, here in the night Spring has come, I've left the cold, so far behind I can feel, the Month of May, here in the light morning comes, I am reborn I am reborn I was young, but lost it all, here in the night Spring has come, I've left the cold, so far behind I can feel, the Month of May, here in the light morning comes, I am reborn I was young, but lost it all, here in the night Spring has come, I've left the cold, so far behind I can feel, the Month of May, here in the light morning comes, I am reborn I am reborn

He's beaten like a shoreline, under a thousand drops of water Trip another land mine, just a pig led to the slaughter His father fought The Great War, and saw the face of evil There's nothing left to stand for, just following the eagle Dig in, brace your back against the wall hope turned into nothing still you gave it your all Blood, sweat of the machine stand against the grind we get up off our knees A smile and a shoeshine, he's scraping out a living Staggers on a fault-line, when lips begin to stiffen Out there on the long road, been looking for a savior He's carrying a wide load, to lay before his maker Dig in, brace your back against the wall hope turned into nothing still you gave it your all Blood, sweat of the machine stand against the grind we get up off our knees When they folded his flag, the clouds moved on to the ceremony song Twenty-one guns to the sun, the battle won, his tour is done Dig in, brace your back against the wall hope turned into nothing still you gave it your all Blood, sweat of the machine stand against the grind we get up off our knees

She's weak and she's hungry, so feed her to the sharks Needy and desperate, her arms still red with marks, with marks She's got no religion, a crying aching soul Lost out in the desert, she needs a hand to hold Needs a hand to hold, Before we lose control Her body is heavy, I got no help to give Weary and restless, this is no way to live, to live, to live I've got no religion, got blisters on my hand, no one ever told me what makes a wretch a man, makes a wretch a man I do the best i can Sabrina take my hand Sabrina my queen, let's quit this crazy scene, you can't expect a soul to understand Handwritten letter, reveals a secret fear I tell her it's over, they'll be no devils here, no devils here Sabrina don't you fear Sabrina hold your tears Sabrina my queen, let's quit this crazy scene, you can't expect a soul to understand Keep your eyes open, Jacky's on the run Keep your eyes open, Jacky's on the run Keep your eyes open, Jacky's on the run I said Jacky's on the run Yea, Sabrina take my hand Oh Sabrina my queen, let's quit this crazy scene, you can't expect a soul to understand Sabrina take my hand Oh Sabrina my queen, let's quit this crazy scene, you can't expect a soul to understand

Clinging to a scaffolding, one not of his design, a desperate man is calling, but no one hears the cries Open eyes and honesty could save him from the flame, but Dogs and Demons never speak, when your the one to blame Sold into a slave Woa oh oh oh, oh oh oh Born into grave Woa oh oh oh, oh oh oh He fills the pit with everything, some poison for the vice, indulging all depravity, he's made to pay the price Open eyes and honesty could save him from the flame, but Dogs and Demons never speak, when your the one to blame Sold into a slave Woa oh oh oh, oh oh oh Born into grave Woa oh oh oh, oh oh oh Piece by piece the void it eats away Face the beat and don't be led astray Sold into a slave Woa oh oh oh, oh oh oh Born into grave Woa oh oh oh, oh oh oh
